Review
This is an epic video game where the player becomes the hero of the Gauls. The warrior will have to defend his people, territory, sources, riches, etc. from Germanic tribes that want to invade them. In order to win the war, the Celtic warrior will have to pass several trainings; he will be instructed by Haaser, the old wise man, and by a weapon master, among others.
This is a pure strategy game that will challenge your war skills, involving several aspects like management of resources, units, attacks, captures, exploration, health, food, cavalry, rituals, time, etc. As far as resources are concerned, you need food and gold; food is produced in villages, while gold is produced in strongholds. These are the sources of wealth and power used to equip units and hire heroes.
You will get a map that will display your location, and you will only be available to see your already explored territory (just like in other strategy games such as Command & Conquer). The game has different levels; as you advance, you will be able to see more parts of the map, which means that you have conquered new areas or captured structures (structures cannot be built, but won and lost, destroyed and/or repaired instead). Every structure has a level of loyalty and cannot be taken before that level becomes 0.
The game can be played on-line with several players, which makes the game even more exciting. |
